You saw the chart I posted. Thousands of ASs resettled in Australia throughout the “Pacific Solution.”

Keep your eyes closed and keep kissing Howard’s wrinkled arse if that does it for you but if you want to argue a proposition argue from facts.

TPVs are an excellent idea Monk.
I note you failed to refute anything I have said.
Therefore what I have said is beyond refutation and therefore true.

Why wouldn't an asylum seeker want to return as soon as possible to his/her homeland when safe to do so.
I note many economic refugees go home for holidays as soon as possible :rofl

So when can I expect answers to my questions Monk? Never?
Keep ignoring them, I'll keep reminding you, you'll keep looking stupid and your beliefs hollow. :du

Let it be very clear that I welcome true Asylum Seekers, e.g. those who are escaping war torn countries, etc. We know what countries these are and families (wives and children) being evacuated don't pay money to get on a leaky boat in Indonesia. Believe me. True Asylum Seekers have no money and fear for their lives.

Boat People are mainly young males ... do we need more young men who are cowards and who prefer to leave their country rather than fight FOR it?

Fifty-four asylum seekers plucked alive from the sea yesterday are being transferred to an Indonesian boat mid-ocean and will be returned to the port of Merak today.

Up to 100 asylum seekers are feared dead and questions are being asked about Indonesia's search and rescue capacity after survivors were discovered almost 24 hours after they first issued a distress call on Wednesday morning while only eight nautical miles off the coast of Java.

Officials in Indonesia said the transfer was due to begin at 3.30am Indonesian time (6.30am AEST), despite survivors' request to be taken to Australia.

A Basarnas spokesman on the boat bringing survivors to land said one refugee had died overnight, though it is not clear why.

The search was to continue at first light for about 96 people still missing.

The window for survival of anybody still in the water is now closing, 48 hours or more since the overcrowded wooden fishing vessel went down in rough seas.

The boat was said to have been carrying 150 ethnic Hazara men, women and children fleeing persecution by the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Can someone explain why 150 ethnic Hazara men, women and children fleeing persecution by the Taliban in Afghanistan are riskign their lives to come to Australia. They have escaped. They are alive. They have crossed many borders to get to Java.

It is because Australia is the land of milk and honey and they will be treated like kings when they get here.

There is no need for them to take this trip. It has nothing to do with feeing persecution. They have sucessfuly doen that. It's about them making a choice where they would prefer to live.

In a word... YES.
It is the PULL factor, their relatives, already here, get in touch and tell them how much better off they will be here, so they come.

Wouldn't have hurt you to have said that Monky Boy.
