The Irish Potato Famine arose because they only planted one variety of potato, now we are repeating their mistake. Clever us!

Not only that, the GMO genes are spreading to certain weed species making them herbicide tolerant too.

Actually the famine was in England. The Irish starved because the Brits stole/confiscated almost all the Irish food.

I used to be concerned about GM crops, but not anymore.
Y'see the argument that GMOs will contaminate and ultimately destroy wild varieties just doesn't hold water, simply because GM plants are inherently weak, and cannot survive let alone flourish without all the chemical back-ups. Simply put, GM plants gone feral will die out within a few generations (growing seasons, not human generations).

Once upon a time I considered the contamination of most processed foodstuffs with soy, canola or MSG as the ultimate scam/conspiracy of the 20th century. Soy (GM or not) is carcinogenic and lowers fertility and alters sexuality, canola is a nerve toxin sending millions of people blind, and Mono-sodium Glutamate (MSG) burns the brain out via excitotoxicity.
So I thought this elitist agenda to poison most of the world a bad thing, but with a global pop of 7+ billion, expected to reach 9+ billion, and imminent water wars on the horizon, as a result of global warming induced climate changes, I have revised my position. Poison is cheaper than bullets, and if the world's elitists desire to reduce global pop back under 3 billion, good luck to them.
