Actually I was just posting a counterpoint to your low casualty figure to show that it was not the entire story and this conflict has proportionally more cripples and severly injured survivors than any other conflict.

Its also interesting how yet again you rubbish Scorpion who has posted proof of service whilst providing none for your own. Is that how it works Frogen, you insult other people who have served whilst providing no proof of your own? No pictures of your medals or commendations yet? awards, buttons, boots, anything?

I would think you should thank other people who have served in whatever capacity. Even as Aussie so sneeringlyputs it he operated inkwells.

Seems if the service does not meet their approval its sneered at. Scorpions service is no good as Aussie claims it was doing nothing but servicing inkwells or some rubbish.

Given the enormous amount of causualties in WW2, Korea and Vietnam I have to wonder if this is true or if it is just we take more care now to categorise injuries now.

I am sure there are more stubbed toes in this conflict as well.

But the concept of proportionally plays to the argument that this war is less of a diffucult task than most other wars as proporotionally few troops were needed to pursue it than Vietnam, Korea, WW2. So every causualty in this war would be a higher proportion than every causualty in the three wars mentioned. (Though if my advise in the Fall of 2003 had been followed and a surge of troops used then this war would have had even fewer deaths and causaulties and would now be completely over. I am a military genius!!!!)

As to Scorpy, shit it still boggles the military mind, 20 years service, once fucking medal and sitting on the bench by the water cooler, never having put his hand up for the big games.

More sneering. I am not a military man and it seems nor are you. AFAIK you dont put your "hand up" , you go where your unit goes and get sent where they send you. Maybe as Aussie sneered they had no need for ink well maintenance or whatever he was trying to say.

Still he has posted proof of 20 years of service and one medal. Which is more than you have managed. And the best you and Aussie can do is sneer? The look becomes both of you.

In 20 years he had his chance to put his hand up or apply for units he thought likely to do more than just pick up trash around the base.

My first tour I CHOSE the Sea Bees (having finished 1st in my rate school I had my pick of orders available for my rank), I could have went to shore duty Washington DC, I chose a combat unit that trains and often fights with the Marines, one more than likely to go to any large conflict, one that goes to many natural disasters as well.

I chose.

I put my hand up for Joint Task Force Provide Promise and was chosen for it (they wanted the nothing but the best), in the military if you want risk you can find it.

But you have to have the courage to find it.

And of course he could have went active duty.

I have a freind who was in the Arkansas National guard, they asked for volunteers to augment some active duty units going to Iraq, he went.
