[quote="Rorschach"sorry... but it is interesting, if a little off topic.[/quote]

Yes, I was quite interested by that. I can't help wondering, though, if "graphity" is some new concept, or a persistent typo?

In any case, I'm fascinated by this kind of stuff. Perhaps a new thread for weird theories of the universe might be in order.

Update: According to Wikipedia, "graphity" isn't a typo.

Okay. I'll have to look those up one day - I loved John Carter.

Have you read the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen comic (not the movie), where the writer of Watchmen mingles the John Carter story with other classics of the period? If not, you should seek it out.
JC - Me too.
No haven't read it, the movie was a disappointment.
Is Nemo an Indian in the "graphic novel"?

The LOEG movie was crap, and had no resemblance to the comic at all. I quickly became bored, and didn't finish it.

I can't remember Nemo exactly, but I get the impression he was an Indian in the comic. I'd just say that the LOEG comic is as high in quality as the Watchmen one.

Apparently there is something invented by an Australian "farmer" on board.
Any idea what?

Dr David Warren invented the Black Box I believe. He put his thoughts into action and produced the prototype in 1957. It was tested successfully in Aus but no-one wanted to back him, build them or sell them

It was a visiting Brit who saw it here and arranged for Warren to take his invention to the UK for development of the unit. They saw the potential and gave him a team of scientists to work with. It was several years later that Aus decided what a good idea it was

Dumb? Who could blame him? If the Brits hadn't taken up the challenge and backed him, someone else would have. Oh except the Aussies. Who's dumb?

We are on the same page, Orchid!

Who's dumb? The Yanks, that's who. The TV was invented by a Scotsman. The Yanks have money and no SENSE.

I really, really get irritated when the Yanks talk about WW2.

I am not sure we are lol

I don't see how the Americans play into the Black Box scenario. Regardless, we may have won or lost the war without the USA's help but it certainly would have gone on a lot longer and probably many more lives would have been lost. Are you including North Americans? The Canadians fought from the start

I have no problem with Americans but I don't know many rednecks
