I fucking hate tattoos. Why would someone do this to themselves?
What's it all about. In the US recently, lovely young women walking around with tats all over them... what's going on....

Yes me too.
hate the things.
Why would someone ruin perfectly good skin with one.
I particularly find it depressing when perfectly good looking women get themselves tattooed, such a turn off.

I detest tattoos too. They are repugnant, but they have become popular amongst young women unfortunately and there's not a single thing you can say or do to deter them from this fashion. To see their beautiful skin blemished permanently is devastating. I call it self mutilation.

Was at the beach in Florida recently and noticed that one out of every three people had a tattoo. Unless one is incredibly stunning don't even bother with a tattoo. All the people I saw were fat, disgusting and better off not tattooed.

I would rather see a fat and disgusting person tattooed than a beautiful and slender one.

On this, I agree with you mantra.
I cannot understand the current trend.
But I did hear the other day that it is in decline.
I think the most common public expression of the "disease" is in the NRL, but then those most likely come from a culture where tattooing is the norm, Maori or South-sea Islander.

I don't have a problem with tattoo's, per se, I have a couple (from my mispent youth, there is some nice artwork out there), I do agree with the general consensus in here though, young women shouldn't go there. Also, indigenous cultures (Japanese, South American, Native American Indian etc), tattoo themselves (as well as scarification), not only for beautification purposes (eye of the beholder here), but also as a form of identification amongst other tribes of the same culture. Maori "moko"/"ta moko" , as an example, is a persons genealogy, depicting their ancestry and immediate lineage.

Tattoos? I was reading something the other day about some criminal having a "tear drop" tattoo. Curious, I checked it out. It means, apparently, that he murdered somebody. So. I checked the Net for what tattoos mean and, as I thought, they began as symbols for locked up CRIMINALS. What a surprise.
If you want to know what they mean, check it for yourself.
The "fashion" of 20-something people getting a tattoo (especially females) when "young and naive" (

) makes one wonder what the Grannies of the Future will look like? What with the availability of Botox, cheap, and so forth! Trout lips, etc. Christ Almighty! They'll look like American Trailer Trash!

Tattoos don't really bother me unless they are on the face or fanatically overdone. Each to their own. I doubt tattooed people will feel embarrassed as they age as many of their age group will have them as well
They used to be associated with criminals but not anymore. I watched a show the other night with Ronan Keating and Guy Sebastian and both had tattoos. Whilst it didn't turn me on, it didn't repulse me either.
Depends on the person, where the tattoo is and how they wear it
It wasn't that long ago that pierced ears were considered revolting and common
