But it hasn't actually been reviewed yet. It's just a draft prior to submission?IQS.RLOW wrote:It's a pre publication draft and it is a rebuttal to Muellers public whoring of himself
Unlike the shonky 'peer review' undertaken by climate boffins who have like minded friends do their reviewing, Watts has no issue with his work being reviewed by anyone

One review of Watts: http://variable-variability.blogspot.in ... -2012.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It appears Watts has no university qualifications and his paper does not contradict the general thrust of climate research.

Not sure whether this is relevant or not but I just got my latest electricity bill .... $468 for the quarter. I was expecting a lot more and checked my bill for this quarter last year and it was $513. I haven't been away and haven't done anything different so wonder why it has gone down and not up since we were supposed to have an increase not that long back.

Re: Carbon tax increases
The increase commenced on the 1st July so you mightn't see the full impact until the next quarter. It's also been quite a mild winter and perhaps you haven't used the a/c as much as usual.
I'm waiting to see what mine is. I've cut down as much as possible on principal to see whether my bill stays the same, although if I have to cut down any further - I may as well live outside and cook on a campfire.

I took that into account too, Mantra. My electricity bill was around $50 LESS than this time last year. I guess that ACTEW is doing a great job. LOL I haven't cut down at all ..... still use the dryer, Summer and Winter. In Winter I expect more as I have heating on early until I go to bed. I see no reason to keep a house warm while I am tucked up under a Doona.mantra wrote:The increase commenced on the 1st July so you mightn't see the full impact until the next quarter. Re: Carbon tax increases
Why would the ACT not apply the carbon tax to electricity? Nationally we're all supposed to be paying at least 20% more. I've just received a notice from my electricity co. offering a 12% discount if I sign up for 2 years - so they're either taking a loss in profits or disregarding the tax.

Re: Carbon tax increases
I have no idea what the increase in electricity will be due to the carbon tax. Canberra's electricity was supposed to increase from LAST July 1 (2011). Our supplier of Electricity (water, sewerage and gas) is ACTEW-AGL, a Canberra-based public company, owned by the ACT Government.mantra wrote:Why would the ACT not apply the carbon tax to electricity?
