It appears that you believe I am a Muslim simply because I speak out against Islamophobia. That is rather a simplistic view, don't you think? So, If I spoke out against Nazi persecution of the Jews, I'd have to be a Jew? How about South African persecution of Blacks? How about Australian persecution of Indigenous Australians? Do I have to change the colour of my skin as well?
All are questions, which I don't doubt you'll avoid answering, which is typical of the mindset of a bigot. Islamophobes hate Muslims - all Muslims - simply because they are well, Muslims. They ignore that there is a very small minority of Muslims who have an Islamist mindset - which is BTW, very similar to the Islamophobic mindset - limited in it's scope and it's willing to tolerate pluralism. The overwhelming majority of Muslims are peaceful, law-abiding, assimilated people in most Western nations, including Australia. All the Muslims want is for the Islamphobes to remember that they are just as much, if not more so, the victims of the Islamists.
Don't worry, Billy, you'd best understand Pastor Niemoller's poem:
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
I'll speak out for you, if you're ever persecuted...
