I spent 10 years in the Army. 8 of them in the Ordnance Corps and 2 years in Infantry. And your military experience is, what, exactly, again? None? Oh, dear...

I dont know whom posted this, but it factually incorrect , A 9mill/38 isnt a particularly powerful round unless it is a magnum .and I could hit you with a rock at ten meters
I refuted his claims about how large a "kick" the Browning L9a1, Pistol, 9mm had. Such a foolish woman, unable to read back through the thread. Tsk, tsk.Serial Brain 9 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2019 9:01 pmDon't worry about Brian - He hasn't got a clue.
"Browning Highpower 9mm"

If you prove me wrong, I also apologise but you need to prove me wrong, Black Orchid.

I’ve shot dozens of pistols, but never in the military. I was trained to shoot and clean an M-16 every year for 10 years, but my job in aircraft maintenance didn’t require carrying a gun. Being in the military doesn’t make you an expert on all things that go boom. Most cops have more real world experience with a handgun.

Yet we are continually told by some gun nuts that cops have less experience, Tex. Who are we to believe?Texan wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 2:17 amI’ve shot dozens of pistols, but never in the military. Personally, I've fired SMGs (Owen Machine Carbine, SMG F1 9mm), Rifles (L1a1, M16, F88), LMGs (Bren, Minimi), GPMGs (M60, L7) and Mortars (81mm), Recoilless Rifles (L35a1) and Rocket Launchers (M72) and finally pistols (L91a 9mm). I rarely speak about other weapons, except in general terms. I was required to carry a rifle or an SMG while on exercise - twice a year for up to 6 weeks. I've fired the others on ranges. I don't claim to be an expert, just more expert than most people.

I was referring to frequent use in making arrests and dealing with enemies (criminals). I know cops who barely qualify with a pistol and I know cops who do competition shooting. Cops are constantly on “deployment “, even if the ordinance is limited to pistol, shotgun, and rifle.

I think you mean, "ordnance", not "ordinance" (which is church law). That aside, Cops are constantly using their firearms in the US perhaps but downunder, they rarely have to "draw" their firearms.Texan wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 4:21 pmI was referring to frequent use in making arrests and dealing with enemies (criminals).
