How does the PRC asking Snowden to leave Hong Kong to aoid diplomatic issues with the USand Russia traditionally not giving a fuck constitute "the world"? What I'm more concerned with is how someone like Snowden actually got a security clearance in the first place and why the hell the NSA is outsourcing their IT at critical installations.

I'm not particularly surprised or alarmed at prism or boundless informant, and of course we have known about echelon for decades. But I am somewhat surprised and disappointed that, while Obama mouths platitudes of welcoming discussion about programs such as this, his government is ruthlessly pursuing the whistleblower who initiated this conversation. I'm disappointed that whistleblowers are not okay for this president. The program s very likely unconstitutional. I certainly can't imagine data mined evidence being allowed in a criminal case.

Obama has now now charged more under the espionage act than all other us presidents... ...combined. This is stark contrast to the ideals of government that candidate Obama portrayed. It's wrong, and it strikes me as a great shame that the only person in a position to call him out on it is that fucking wally from Alaska.

I am a supporter of Obama. Early on he said he supported the de-criminalization of marijuana while in fact he has turned out to be a wolf in sheep's clothing on this issue. My take? He is, of course, politically savvy and picks and chooses his fights carefully. Are his supporters disappointed? Yes.

No, it was about scandals in the Obama administration, and especially about abuse of government power for political ends.

As you can see, the first two issues weren't about Benghazi, but about politicisation of supposedly neutral agencies. The second one refers to monitoring of journalists by the Justice Department - which is particularly relevant in light of the Snowden revelations.

The NSA business can be regarded as a fourth scandal in the ongoing series. They add up to a pretty nasty pattern.
