Effectively, an appeal is another trial - all the evidence is looked at, afresh by several judges. There is no jury involved. They look at it purely on points of law, nothing more. If his appeal is successful, he is then usually set free, unless of course the Prosecution appeals against his release - an unusual but not unheard of circumstance.
Correct

6 Senior Judges will look at the evidence without emotion or preconceived notions.

He will go free after this, i am 99.9% sure - unless its a political “hit job”

And i must stress - i am no fan of Pell - and perhaps he does deserve jail - but not on trumped up lies which could effect anyone of us in the future just by someone making an accusation against us.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

the problem with police interviews is you can only answer what question they choose to ask....

we are talking about a man who has reached the pinnacle of his lifes work...

whos work was to protect all gods children....and no matter what comes from any appeal...

he will never recover...

its public its damning

if its true its appalling

if its not true its even worse...

It's a terrible situation if he's innocent.
He could be paying the penalty for other peoples sex crimes.
The Catholic church is considered by many to be a criminal organisation.
I have found the Catholic church was always very kind to me in my dealings with them -
I did some work as a contractor with them once
and the people there were some of the nicest people I've ever met.
I feel very sorry for any innocent well meaning people drawn into this whole saga.

well at last you are saying as you find...

which is exactly what Abbott and Howard has said... speak as you find..

to read what some people have said....probably by people who have never had any dealing with the Catholic Church let alone Pell himself....

you would think they had all reported their own case to the Royal Comm.....

we havent even heard who the alleged victim is.......

what happens next do we know?>...will he have another trial if his appeal is upheld?...

Wait for the appeal Cods.
Let's see what the judges have to say.

There are 3 Prisons out the North side of Lara - Barwon is MAXIMUM for the baddest criminals in Victoria.

And they are having birthday parties with Fizzy Drinks and Pizza?

What a joke!

I have done some work out at the Prisons recently - you can go to the Minimum or Medium Security Prisons ok - but drive into Barwon and you have a full time security guard sitting in a car somewhere in the car park “watching”

“Always Watching”

You’ll never see him in the same place twice.
are they watching the visitors SB?....seems an odd thing to do...you couldnt watch a whole carpark from a car..????....
Yes - the first time i was out there i accidentally went through the “staff” car park - the security guard seemed quite upset for a start but i talked to him pleasantly and thanked him for pointing me in the right direction - he calmed down after that.

One wrong move out at Maximum Security and BAM - out you go.

I worked with a lot of the families of the criminals out there - some were, well, you know - others were beautiful people coming in from huge distances.

One lady used to come in from the Melbourne Suburbs via train to Lara then out to Minimum - she was Blind and didn’t have a dog. She felt dogs were too much trouble - so she just talk to the people around her for help on and off train and buses etc.

Wonderful lady.
