Abbott has badmouthed Labor's running of the economy for so long and made so many promises, that he's going to have to backpedal fast to keep the country afloat.

After sweeping Labor from power with a gain of at least 12 seats on Saturday, the prime minister-elect plans to call premiers to reinforce his message that Australia is "open for business" and to discuss key infrastructure projects.
These include the WestConnex project in NSW, upgrading the Bruce Highway and the Gateway Motorway extension in Queensland, the East West Link in Victoria and the Swan bypass upgrade in Western Australia.
