Business leaders appreciate need for price on carbon, says Wayne Swan
While Mr Swan claimed broad appreciation at the meeting of the need for a carbon price, Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry chief executive Peter Anderson went into the meeting opposed to an economy wide carbon price.

He maintained that position in the official discussions and outside the meeting.

“Views in the business sector are divided but Mr Anderson made it known that the majority of businesses are SMEs (small and medium enterprises), and as energy consumers our surveys show that most are opposed,” a spokesman for ACCI told The Australian Online.
