Abbott's $47 billion spending cuts

Post by mantra » Mon Jul 19, 2010 8:06 am

This is so reminiscent of the Howard era when social services for those most desperately in need of it were cut to the bone, or eliminated altogether to save a few bucks. Hospital funding was gradually reduced over the years and the same occurred with government schools. Organisations for the needy had their funding taken away and Australia became a nastier, more divisive country. Charities - not religious ones of course, suffered drastically because of the cutbacks and couldn't keep up with the demand.

These proposed cutbacks promised Abbott will put downward pressure on interest rates. Haven't we heard this somewhere before and then we had 6 rate rises in quick succession.

Same old, same old - "who do we trust" - certainly not you Mr. Abbott.
