A recently arrived Democratic Republic of the Congo national from Central Africa, Echibaketa Byamungu, walked out of Brisbane Magistrates Court after pleading guilty to bashing a bus driver, and hours later was waving a black machete in a Runcorn road rage attack.

While he was already on bail.

The court heard Byamungu and Joseph Kalwisha cut off two cars on Persse Road just before 8am. After a beep, Kalwisha grabbed a 50cm knife, held it to a man’s chest and punched him.

Byamungu got out with the machete.

“If you’re not going to stop, we’re going to kill you.”

Truck driver William Hughes couldn’t get past and started filming.

Kalwisha climbed the cab, ripped the keys from the ignition, tried to stab Hughes with them, bit his hand twice and his arm, then lunged through the window trying to tear flesh from his face with his teeth.

Byamungu jumped on the cab step and speared the machete through the driver’s window. He then turned on another man, scratched his throat and put his hands around his neck.

Hughes and the other man held Kalwisha until police arrived.

EGYPTIAN NATIONAL ON A BRIDGING VISA HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH 32 COUNTS OF RAPE.

His name is Ahmed Yasser Ahmed Salaheldien Nasser, and he has been charged over one of the most serious alleged rape sprees reported in Sydney’s history.

Police say he raped three Sydney women, two aged 21, one aged 28, thirty two times between 2023 and 2025.

Not a one night attack. A two year campaign of terror.

He met the first victim at a Vodafone store in Winston Hills. Court documents allege he got her phone number, got her photos, then raped her in a his car that same night, and then kept her silent with threats to leak the footage.

Another woman came off “Muzmatch” a Muslim dating app, Police say he’d been fishing for a dozen more off that same app.

But, the offending was not only behind closed doors.

Court material alleges assaults at Fairlight Beach in Manly, in a doctor’s toilet at Westmead, at Westfield Parramatta and in a Kmart change room.

One alleged attack was interrupted by a knock on the door.

At the time of the alleged rapes, he was already serving a community correction order for two other sexual touching offences.

Bridging visa. Prior sex offences. 32 new rape charges. Still waiting on a verdict.
