bunker of your dream?

Post by tllwd » Wed Oct 29, 2025 12:10 pm

If you'd rather buy a ready-made and lived-in bunker, then this underground prepper retreat in Missouri, USA, could well pique your interest. Listed with SpecialFinds for $284,900 (£225k), the custom-built bunker sits on 2.4 acres of land close to the city of Mountain Grove, in the Ozarks.

The outside of the bunker sits on a small hill and looks rather unassuming, but head through the secure front door and down a set of steps and you'll find a homely, 1,250-square-foot property that's both ultra-private and inviting. There's a spacious kitchen with a large pantry and dining area, three bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a laundry and storage room.

All of the interior spaces are comfortable and traditionally decorated, so the buyer may wish to undertake a minor renovation to make the rooms a little more modern. Otherwise, it's move-in ready and all you'll need to do is pack your bags.

Plus, the brilliant bunker is equipped with fresh air intake, a central heat pump, a full-size shower, a bathtub and standard toilets rather than composting models. There are also two garden sheds, an insulated garage and a 1,250-square-foot shop building – all of which could be converted into bunkers and leased out to others.

As for outside space, the grounds come equipped with endless fruit trees, a spring-fed creek, plenty of areas for growing a garden, a 500-gallon liquid propane gas tank and an 80-foot antenna tower – so you can keep guard and ensure you never lose your all-important telecoms access.

The property is also fully fenced and includes a secure gate and security system, so you'll be properly protected during your stay.

It's 80 years since Hiroshima and Nagasaki
and still every person in the world has the threat of being killed by nuclear weapons.
The fact that many are on a hair trigger is disgraceful.

All it would need is for human beings to declare that it's not acceptable
and verifiable rules to be put into place to stop hair trigger systems,
and the gradual dismantling and removal of all nuclear weapons.

You'd think 80 years would be long enough to do it?
It depresses me to see how pathetic our world leaders have always been.

nukes vs machetes

IMHO, instant death in nukes blast is preferable to be chopped to death by machetes.

Can't argue with that.

You'd have to be a halfwit to go down into that crater -
it would be full of radioactive dust.

Looks like they had respiratory masks and some had light anti-contamination closing similar to what Australian military personnel had during British nukes tests in Australia.

Australian is better for chemicals not just for dust.

Anyway
The nuclear weapons testing ordered by U.S. President Donald Trump will not involve nuclear explosions at this time, Energy Secretary Chris Wright said on Sunday.
