Before Covid, My wife and I took some of our friends up to Cairns to stay at double island resort...If you get the chance and have the means I highly recommend it when travel is not such a pain.

I took our boat from Brisbane up the coast and was able to tie off on the wharf at the island and they provided us with golf carts to drive around. Amazing experience as you rent the whole island.

A must see.

2 days in Darwin once nearly killed me from heatstroke.
It was around Xmas time too.
