Channel 9s Danny Weidler initially revealed the NRL was questioning de Belin’s movements on the night of the party after witnesses saw him in the vicinity of Vaughan’s home following the Dragons’ extra time win over the Warriors.
It followed police being called due to a noise complaint.
The Dragons “strongly denied" de Belin was in attendance but now Weidler reports the club made the forward go to police. He was interviewed on Monday and slapped him with a $1000 fine.
“He admitted he was at the Vaughan party,” he tweeted.
“The Dragons are now dealing with a cover up.”
It comes after Fox Sports’ James Hooper named 11 Dragons players at the party and under investigation by the NRL Integrity Unit.
They include Paul Vaughan, Josh McGuire, Jack Bird, Blake Lawrie, Corey Norman, Kaide Ellis, Matt Dufty, Gerard Beale, Josh Kerr, Daniel Alvaro and Zac Lomax.
The NRL Integrity Unit is continuing to investigate whether other St George Illawarra players were involved in the house party as well.
The Dragons want to try and resolve the problem as quickly as possible with the players looking at receiving fines.
The Dragons released a statement on Sunday addressing the alleged breach of both the NRL’s biosecurity protocols along with a breach of the NSW stay-at-home orders currently in place across large parts of the state.
