Chinese air force planes including 12 fighter jets have entered Taiwan's air defence identification zone for a second day, Taiwan says, as tensions rise near the island just days into US President Joe Biden's new administration.

The United States' commitment to Taiwan is "rock-solid", the State Department said late on Saturday, as it warned that China's "attempts to intimidate" the island are a threat to regional peace.

The comments are the first from Washington on relations with Taiwan since President Joe Biden's inauguration last week, and came on the same day Taipei reported multiple Chinese jets and bombers had flown into its air defense zone.

State Department spokesman Ned Price said it "notes with concern the pattern of ongoing PRC attempts to intimidate its neighbors, including Taiwan" and "urges Beijing to cease its military, diplomatic, and economic pressure against Taiwan."

Linda Reynolds is weak as is Marise Payne. I know the woke and PC won't approve of my view but both of their positions should be held by strong men who've had active experience.

We're dealing with some countries where women aren't taken seriously and they just laugh at weak women who look butch. This ridiculous quota system is pathetic. Imagine how China would laugh if we appointed a tranny to chastise them?

Taiwan is part of China, just ask Beijing Biden. When the CCP moves into Taiwan the USA will congratulate China on reunification under this administration. Rest assured Biden will leave all of you hanging when China makes its moves! He is much more concurred about his domestic enemies, the American people!
