Philisophies of life.

Post by billy the kid » Thu Jul 16, 2020 1:30 pm

Thinking of the current plandemic the other day took me back quite a few years to a neighbour
I once knew....
He was a lawyer...in his mid 20s...single....with a brilliant mind....
I remember talking to him once whilst sharing a coffee or three.....
His thoughts on life were rather simple....
Your life depends on a small number of factors....
a) luck...good or bad....
b) the people you meet....good or bad....
c) the ability you have to make the right decisions at the right time.....
Luck could mean receiving a financial windfall which sets you up for life...
OR it could mean being in the wrong place and the wrong time and having a mv accident...
ending up in a wheel chair....
You could meet people who lead you astray and you could become a drug addict....
or maybe someone interviews you for a job which you are given and its yours for life...
Decisions...well..we all know that this one is difficult...
Three or four decisions you make in your life will be life changing....we've all made them....
They could have been right....could have been wrong....and you then suffer the consequences
or reap the rewards....
His simple outlook on life revolved around two points...
a) do you want to have children
b) do you want to be a slave for the rich for your entire life....
His answers to both were a resounding NO....
If the answer to a) is NO... you simply make a medical appointment...that's easy...
His answer to b) was to work for six months of the year and then have six months off to enjoy
your life....on a regular and yearly basis....easy for some...very difficult for others.....
Havent heard from the guy for years...the last I knew of him, he was touring the USA several
years ago with a couple of like minded mates....
He also though back then that the world was headed for another war...
I asked pray tell....why is that....
This was from memory about the time of the GFC...
He suggested that the world was overpopulated and that the rich and famous were worried
about lack of world wide resources...a reduction in consumption was the answer...
Hence his view that a war would reduce a) population and b) consumption...
Then the rich could get on with what they enjoy doing....
Getting richer.....
AND their slaves would continue to be slaves....brainwashed to the max.....
All of the above may be seen simply as conjecture and wishful thinking...
BUT then again Im in a shit dribbling mood atm..... :rofl

Its coming...the rest of the world versus islam....or is it here already...

Yeah well ... lol

Other than getting a windfall that sets you up for life I think we make our own luck.

Whatever you do, do it well. If you can't do it well then find something else that satisfies you.

We all make good and bad choices in life but I think the key is to never harbour regrets about any of those choices. Stick to your guns, make the most of the choices you make in life and don't waste time and energy thinking "what if" or reflecting on "what was" or "what might have been".

How did his work 6 months on and 6 months off turn out?

If it were me I would strive to work twice as hard full time and then retire very early!

Don't know how his 6 months on/off worked out...haven't heard from him for years...
I just started the thread for something to do....didn't really expect many replies.....

Two Tramps In Mud Time

Out of the mud two strangers came
And caught me splitting wood in the yard,
And one of them put me off my aim
By hailing cheerily “Hit them hard!”
I knew pretty well why he had dropped behind
And let the other go on a way.
I knew pretty well what he had in mind:
He wanted to take my job for pay.

Good blocks of oak it was I split,
As large around as the chopping block;
And every piece I squarely hit
Fell splinterless as a cloven rock.
The blows that a life of self-control
Spares to strike for the common good,
That day, giving a loose to my soul,
I spent on the unimportant wood.

The sun was warm but the wind was chill.
You know how it is with an April day
When the sun is out and the wind is still,
You’re one month on in the middle of May.
But if you so much as dare to speak,
A cloud comes over the sunlit arch,
A wind comes off a frozen peak,
And you’re two months back in the middle of March.

A bluebird comes tenderly up to alight
And turns to the wind to unruffle a plume,
His song so pitched as not to excite
A single flower as yet to bloom.
It is snowing a flake; and he half knew
Winter was only playing possum.
Except in color he isn’t blue,
But he wouldn’t advise a thing to blossom.

The water for which we may have to look
In summertime with a witching wand,
In every wheelrut’s now a brook,
In every print of a hoof a pond.
Be glad of water, but don’t forget
The lurking frost in the earth beneath
That will steal forth after the sun is set
And show on the water its crystal teeth.

The time when most I loved my task
The two must make me love it more
By coming with what they came to ask.
You’d think I never had felt before
The weight of an ax-head poised aloft,
The grip of earth on outspread feet,
The life of muscles rocking soft
And smooth and moist in vernal heat.

Out of the wood two hulking tramps
(From sleeping God knows where last night,
But not long since in the lumber camps).
They thought all chopping was theirs of right.
Men of the woods and lumberjacks,
They judged me by their appropriate tool.
Except as a fellow handled an ax
They had no way of knowing a fool.

Nothing on either side was said.
They knew they had but to stay their stay

And all their logic would fill my head:
As that I had no right to play
With what was another man’s work for gain.
My right might be love but theirs was need.
And where the two exist in twain
Theirs was the better right–agreed.

But yield who will to their separation,
My object in living is to unite
My avocation and my vocation
As my two eyes make one in sight.
Only where love and need are one,
And the work is play for mortal stakes,
Is the deed ever really done
For Heaven and the future’s sakes.

a) luck...good or bad....

I was lucky to be born to parents who worked hard, were good role models, and taught us the value of honesty and integrity.

b) the people you meet....good or bad....

My Dad played basketball with a bunch of friends from church weekly when I was growing up. When I was old enough, I played ball with them. This one friend told me that if I would get an education, he would give me a job. I finished college when I was in the military and called him up on his offer. I worked for him for 26 years in 3 different companies until he retired earlier this year. I would have done OK without him, but he did have a huge impact on my life.

c) the ability you have to make the right decisions at the right time.....

Drugs and poor friend choices lead to criminal behavior and poor life decision making. (pregnancy, job performance, et...) I wasn't on a good path when I started college and joined the military for a fresh start when I dropped out of college. My life isn't perfect, but it turned out better than my closest friends, and they see that in my life now that I am back home with a beautiful and faithful wife, work experience, and a college education.

Who you marry and when you marry can mean everything to the foundation of your family. I had a very attractive girlfriend who dumped me because I wasn't very mature. That woke me up and I decided to live my life a little more soberly. I met the lovely Mrs. Texan and life has been great for 28 years. I actually met her as a "pen pal" 2 weeks after my girlfriend dumped me. Mrs Texan happened to work during a Summer with a lady I went to church with as a teenager. She gave Mrs Texan my address and we began writing. We met 4 months later and married less than a year after meeting. We lived 800km apart from the time we met until the day we married. She lived about 50 km from my parents, so I could see her when I came home on leave from the military. My point is that you never know who your mate will be or when you will meet them. Just be the person they want and need or it will be a moot point.

I have come to the conclusion that worldwide, people are becoming dumber and dumber.
In fact, I feel that a lot of people are just plain stupid....
Its as simple as that....
Nine out of ten morons in Victoria who have felt sick lately, in the middle of a plandemic, have
continued to go to work etc before getting tested for the conjob19 virus....
AND then, after testing over half don't isolate...
Look around and you will see moronic millennials...
Even people up to about 35-40 don't seem to have any brains....
Watch a RBT programme on the idiot box and observe the imbeciles pulled over...
Brain surgeons...every last one of them....
How many muppets these days rely on grog and drugs to cope with the stresses of life...
How stupid are you that you have to get pissed every week to survive through life...
OR maybe snort meth or weed every couple of days.....
Id hazard a guess that the person driving the car next to you on your way home from
work is probably a moron....maybe you are too.....
Is it something in the water...
I know in Australia we have been dumbed down for decades....
We must be dumb to put up with the crap that is served up to us by our
politicians, media and the clandestine systems under which we live...
I suppose if everyone has incompetent parents, what else can we expect, but to grow up
stupid....
Watch 30 or 40 year olds with their kids in a shopping mall..they haven't got a clue....
Google worldwide IQ stats and this substantiates that everyone is getting dumber....
NO wonder the politicians can keep us under their jackboots....
We're too stupid to resist.....
To discover those who rule over you, first discover those who you cannot criticize...Voltaire
Its coming...the rest of the world versus islam....or is it here already...

Idiots are what make the news. My wife and I surround ourselves with responsible people. We don't make the news, but we have less drama in our lives. Usually our kids bring enough of that into our lives.

I don't know which is a majority. "Idiot" is a subjective term and some idiot may think I'm an idiot, but I pay my bills and don't live in my parent's basement. So I have that going for me.
