Does having the X Bench stuff parliament

Post by Redneck » Tue Dec 03, 2019 2:14 pm

Does having the X Bench stuff the running of a good parliament?

I am more and more coming to the opinion we would be better off with just the major parties negotiating legislation rather than these screwballs

Lambie
One Nation
The Greens
etc

What are your thoughts?

Usually, the Cross Bench keeps the government honest or rather more honest than it is at the moment. The role of parliament is about negotiation and politics and compromises.

I just think these really tight numbers give the X Bench ratbags undue influence allowing dodgy horse trading!

Such as Lambie having a housing debt of the Tasmanian government forgiven by the Commonwealth.

Well thats OK for Tasmania but what about the other states!

There is no such thing as an honest grubberment

In fact it's an oxymoron to put honest anywhere near grubberment.

The sole function of the "independents" is to rort the system and to keep their cushy jobs. To Hell with the governing of Australia.

ON needs to be there or we would be SWAMPED with illegals all seeking welfare. I am in two minds about Lambie but definitely the Greens should be put out to pasture permanently.

Canberra definitely needs somebody like One Nation. Usually all we have is ALP, Greens and Liberal and a few other rubbish things. There's a new Election in the ACT next year .... the current Liberal bloke hasn't got a hope. Unfortunately.

Oh, and the current ACT Government is saying we are willing to take a LOT more asylum seekers. Just what Canberra needs ... more darkies.
