I've been using LED down lights for ages but I replaced a load of then 18 months ago and about 1/4 of them are flickering. 1 year warranty, what a fucking ripoff.

By "globe", do you mean a simple screw in light bulb? LED bulbs here cost about $3-4. 4-packs are about $10. $8-9 for the "high quality" bulbs.

I try hard to buy American if possible. If it's Texan, even better. I have a pair of Tony Llama boots from Justin TX. If I ever buy a new truck, it will be a Toyota, made in San Antonio TX. Support your own economy first.

To Gordon, as an electrician, I think I know what your problem is.

Many people put new LED globes in their old light fittings that were made for tungsten carbide globes. They do this because the lights look identical, the connections look the same, and the globes fit perfectly. Then they start flickering. The reason for that is that the LED globes need a transformer with a rectifier to give DC output. The old tungsten globes used a transformer which did not need a rectifier and it's output was AC. Put simply, you are using DC globes in an AC system.

Either use the old globes or replace your old lights with LED capable light fittings.
