Sydney Metro

Post by Gordon » Mon May 06, 2019 8:33 pm

A mate of mine got himself a ride along with Gladdy and Andrew Constance.

He reckons it's the best he's ever been on.

I've been on the HK and Bangkok metros, fantastic bits of kit.

Well done NSW Libs!

I am not too sure about driverless trains but time will tell. I don't see the need to connect Chatswood directly to Bankstown either but that has nothing to do with the service of course.

Driverless is just fine. I wonder what other stations Chato Bankstown has.

I don't know about the other stations. Chatswood to Sydenham under the Harbour then on to Bankstown. The second leg isn't necessary lol.

I would be happier with a wall than a direct train route :b

Australia's public transport system is a third world joke.

Seriously, China, the UK, the US, Russia, even India have better rail systems.

The rail from Sydney to Qld is so riddled with speed restrictions ( because of poor tracks and dangerous bridges) that it's almost faster to walk.

I travelled from Scotland to Bath in the UK in 7 hours.
We travelled so fast tgat you could not read the names of the stations we passed through.
It was smooth, quiet and comfortable.

We are fools, putting up with third world, nay, worse than third world rail systems.
And praising a pathetic metro light rail system that should be expected, better and larger in its reach.

But then, you can't have more politicians per capita, who are paid more than any politician in any country and who are supported by the largest, highest paid and least effective public service system in the world, and have a reasonable public transport system......can you?

Why not?
We already have brain dead driverless cars in Sydney

Head down reading phone messages, completely disconnected from the real world.

And zombie pedestrians who stare into their mobile phones while walking aimlessly into traffic.

I'm just amazed our road toll isn't expressed in tens of thousands.
