The NSW Labor Party’s head office in Sydney has been raided by the Independent Commission Against Corruption today as part of an investigation into ALP donations.
Officials of the NSW ICAC are believed to have searched the ALP’s Sussex Street office for financial documents linked to an annual party fundraising event called the Chinese Friends of Labor.
The ICAC declined to comment on the raid with a spokeswoman saying the corruption investigator did not provide detail on operational matters.
While the precise nature of the investigation remains unclear at this stage, it is known that the NSW Labor Party has fostered close ties with prominent wealthy businessmen from the Chinese community in Sydney.
Former Labor senator Sam Dastyari quit politics because of a scandal over his relationship with one businessman and large party donor, Huang Xiangmo.
In 2016, it was reported that another Chinese-born businessman with links to Mr Dastyari, Minshen Zhu, had written a $2000 cheque for NSW Labor candidate Chris Minns as a donation for the 2015 election — yet Mr Zhu had apparently never met Mr Minns. The cheque was not cashed.
Other Labor MPs with close ties to the Chinese community include federal MPs Chris Bowen. One key link between the NSW ALP and the Chinese community over the years has been Upper House MP Ernest Wong, a Burwood councillor before he was given the seat of retiring MP and former Labor treasurer Eric Roozendaal. Mr Roozendaal then went on to work for Mr Huang afterwards.

Chinese friends of Labor
Indeed!
It seems quite apparent (to me) that certain influential characters (eg Bob Carr) and probably a critic mass mass proportion of the ALP caucus would like Australia to be run/controlled/colonised by communist China ... and thus are traitors to Australia .... several decades ago Dastyari would have been charged with sedition.
Notice how Labor are anti small business?
Well that's because small business employees and the self employed, as a rule, don't join unions.
That why the unions are in bed with big business (corporations) ... unions realised about 30 years ago that big business is not their enemy, but is actually crucial for their continued existence, because large/heavy industries are the only place they can play standover middle man supposedly on the workers' behalf.
Of course ultimately it's all going to back fire on them as small business operators are regulated out of the market, or just don't bother trying to comply with unreasonable bureaucunts, and heavy industry moves offshore.
If Donald Trump is so close to the Ruskis, why couldn't he get Vladimir Putin to put novichok in Xi Jjinping's lipstick?

Labor's always been blood red ... with some pinko attachments.
Labor supporters/members can deny it til their veins pop out their foreheads, but the fact is the Labor (originally Labour) Party was founded by communist unionists.
During WW2 a Nazi agent/spy/operative infiltrated the Waterside Workers Union and got the wharfies to go on strike - that is refuse to load supplies on to ships required by our troops fighting the Japanese in New Guinea ... Menzies had to get Home Guard soldiers to do the wharfies job while Australia was under attack ... how's that for treasonous?
