What is land tenure? It's when a land is owned by an individual, who is said to "hold" the land.
Benefits of having a freehold: you don’t worry about a lease running out, as you own the property outright + you don't pay ground rent.
With leasehold: when the lease ends, ownership returns to the freeholder unless you extend. Your children won't inherit your house.
