Emmanuel Macron, the French president, has called for a "real European army" to defend the continent against Russia, China and even the US.
Mr Macron, who has pushed for a joint EU military force since his election last year, issued the call in northern France in the run-up to the centenary of the end of the First World War.
"We will not protect the Europeans unless we decide to have a true European army," Mr Macron said in the interview at Verdun, the scene of France's most bloody battle.
His call came as he was due to welcome Donald Trump, the US president, and other world leaders, including Theresa May and Russia's Vladimir Putin, to France to commemorate Armistice centenary this weekend.
Mr Macron said the continent could no longer rely on protection from America, citing the recent decision of Mr Trump to withdraw from a Cold War-era nuclear treaty, and he even suggested its old ally posed a potential threat.
"We have to protect ourselves with respect to China, Russia and even the United States of America," Mr Macron told broadcaster Europe 1 in his first radio interview since taking power.
"When I see President Trump announcing that he's quitting a major disarmament treaty which was formed after the 1980s euro-missile crisis that hit Europe, who is the main victim? Europe and its security," he said.
Faced with "a Russia which is at our borders and has shown that it can be a threat", Mr Macron added: "We need a Europe which defends itself better alone, without just depending on the United States."
Mr Trump had previously said that Europe could not bank on America's protection if it failed to meet its annual defence spending commitment to Nato, prompting Mr Macron to declare last month: "Europe can no longer rely solely on the US for its security."

Defence analysts expressed scepticism yesterday over the concept of a European army. Bruno Alomar, professor at the School of War in Paris, said the idea of creating a "common strategic culture" was interesting.
"But there exists a fantastic gap between European defence dreams of Emmanuel Macron and the reality of very powerful disagreements between European partners on defence issues," he told AFP.

Great idea! Round up all the violent immigrant thugs enjoying Parisian hospitality and who have formed violent ghettos, send them to the front line and arm them with water pistols. Win win!

Europe has a European Army it is called NATO.
Then there is the Franco-German Army Brigade, made up of units from both Armies.
Macron is simply reiterating a call which was made originally over 30 years ago. NATO has come a long way towards greater integration of it's military forces. KFOR, Afghanistan have shown the way forward. The British Army call it "Jointery" (as in Joint Forces).
Now, they just have to cut the apron strings to Washington. Which no doubt would both please and alarm el Presidente'.

Russia and China are not a threat. Macro is a illuminati muppet. The congoids in France are the biggest problem.

Oh, dear. I thought the ZOG - the Zionist Overlord Government controlled the world?
You remind me of an old joke I heard told. Two elderly Jewish men are sitting in a park in pre-anchsloss Vienna. One looks at the other and asks, "Jacob, why are you reading that terrible Nazi newspaper?"
To which Jacob replies, "Why, Joseph, I am reading this paper because it tells me that Jews rule the world. We control Governments, we run economies and we ruin Gentiles... Your paper just tells me how miserable we are as a people, how we are oppressed and how bad is our reputation!"
So, who are we meant to fear today? ZOG? Illuminati? Freemasons? George Soros? Aliens? Oh, dear, which conspiracy should we fear now?

Not by me. By more intelligent people, some of them already dead. The Illuminati sacrifice is known to everyone.

One of the most retarded deaths was of Anton Yelchin. Died because he was "pinned" against his own gate on his house's front entrance by his 5,000 pound (2.5 ton) Jeep Grand Cherokee after he got out of the car but left the SUV in neutral.
Let me tell you, I've always driven big trucks and SUVs. I've been stuck in mud numerous times. I often had to go out and push while winching it from my remote. It's not that hard to push a car. It moves. And your body is pretty flexible, it's easy you "get out". You'll probably tear a cloth or two but that's it.
And these are only the RECENT ones. I don't to even go back and start picking on 2Pac, Elvis Presley, Notorious BIG (Biggie), Prince and others. It's very convenient how not one of my relatives or friends or known people has died of overdose or of anything but celebrities are falling like domino bricks.

Yep, you tell us all about the conspiracies, Flektarn. Warn us about how the world is controlled by mysterious groups of people (and aliens). Do they take turns? I wonder, there are just so many too choose from. Don't forget the Chemtrails!

You're probably one of them as we speak. Demons & Govs often hide between that mask. They mock everything, making it highly clear that it's not true. For most people, it would work, yes. For someone like me? Never.
