Intervention changes
Looks like the government has been reviewing th NT aboriginal intervention program and consulting extensively with affected communities. Be very interesting to see what changes will occur?

Re: Intervention changes
My personal intervention change would be "welcome to the modern world", get a job, or go to where the jobs are.
And before you grumble, it could have been worse, Indonesia is Islamic. Good thing you got out while you could.

Re: Intervention changes
Its human to be interested in conflict I guess. In this case however i would hope that the intervention or its next version would actually help prevent the child abuse and domestic violence that was present in the communities.
I don't think napalm would be a good solution.
Have you been involved in destroying villages?
And now having seen your next comment- hard to get people who are drunk and violent that they need to work. I think the intervention has been aimed at an earlier stage of "reform" or whatever you like to call it.

OK, I guess our only other alternative is to dance naked around the snake God Wigal and ask the Aboriginals how much more money they want to be victims forever more.

Re: Intervention changes
From that article, it sounds like they wont change much at all.
Perhaps it is working, for the womenfolk, anyway?
