Yeah I agree; Hanson is making herself an idiot on both fronts. What I do think is good however, is that she visited our troops in Afghanistan. More pollies should do this.

Yes, they should. They do. We just don't hear about it as often as we hear about the antics of Pauline.

Her comments about the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony were particularly stupid but what can we expect from a woman suffering Relevance Deprivation Syndrome?

Pauline may not be able to articulate well, in fact she articulates very poorly, but many turned off the Games opening ceremony because it was too 'politically correct'. Aboriginal and Aboriginal culture is a part of Australia and Australia's history but only a part of our history. It absolutely should be a focus but not the main focus. I turned it off after 25 mins because I was sick of listening to didgeridoos. It was not only boring it was skewed and deserved criticism.

Also the closing ceremony should have celebrated the athletes and should also be criticised for ignoring them.

The closing ceremony was criticised - by it's own organisers. I didn't watch either of them, having no interest in the games. However, to deny that Indigenous Australian Culture is not what is unique about Australia as a nation is wrong by Pauline. I understand they also had segments on surfing and other aspects of Queensland's culture. The opening ceremony is meant to be about what is unique about the place where the games are occurring, to act as a intro to it. To ignore Indigenous culture would be wrong, which is basically what Pauline is claiming should have been done.

Pauline needs a good handler, if nothing else. Her experience with men has not been good, she keeps choosing idiots who use her for their own ends. Ashby is no different. He will be just like David Oldfield. He will manoeuvre her to the point where he can grab all the money and run. She will more than likely never choose a woman as a handler because she will be jealous of her. She is that sort of woman. She likes to be used.

No-one said to ignore indigenous culture and, in fact, I said the opposite. It is a part of Australia NOT the sum of Australia so it should have taken up a part of the ceremony proportionately.

Meanwhile, outside there were hoards of protesting Aboriginals who didn't even seem to know what they were protesting about. They just wanted to protest for the sake of it.

It must have been extremely confusing to foreigners.

I spoke to an aboriginal colleague about the aboriginal protests outside the games. He said they were a wrong move by the aboriginals protesting, and undermined the opening ceremony. To him, the protests were pointless and detrimental.

My understanding is that it did. Pauline and other bigots were scared that Indigenous Australians were being noticed at all it appears from her comments. They were here for ~75,000 years, White, Anglo-Saxon/Celtic Colonists have been here for 200+ years.

That is the impression the MSM gave. In reality they were protesting about several things, including the non-acknowledgement of their stolen wages.

Then you will be good enough to provide us with a list then eh.

Don't know what she said , but do know a great many people thought both ceremonies were inappropriate.
I never saw the opening but I certainly agree about the end and the TV coverage etc. where were the athletes... oh and apparently many athletes left before the end due to the mismanagement.

As for this...
I didn't watch either of them, having no interest in the games.
then perhaps you shouldn't comment at all if all you have is obsessive unqualified bias. :du
