Owners of dogs like this ought to be put down, as a first order of business.

OMG I can't watch that!!! And I agree, it is the owner's fault and not the dog's. They get breeds like this because they think it makes them tough but have no idea how to keep, let alone train, an animal properly.

owner should be charged ..... at the very least those dogs should be wearing muzzles when out in public.

they actually make great pets if raised properly ..... but you have to be realistic, especially out in public. They will almost always go for something if they can get away with it, it's what they are bred for. She should always assume other people will do the wrong thing with their pets.

I can't tell you the number of people would walk past my old doberman with their dog off lead, and I can guarantee my dog would go for it if it got nearer than 5 meters from him ... He was 50 kg of solid muscle so if I wasn't prepared for it he would have dragged me with him. Most times I'd avoid such a situation, but sometimes it was unavoidable, paths would bottleneck or crowds would push them towards you.

If she can't control her dogs she should have had a muzzle on them. I'm just grateful they went after a cat and not a kid.

I am not sure that Dobermans are as bad as Pit Bulls

Maybe I am wrong as I have never owned either!

no, not trying to compare the two either. Doberman are great dogs. Just trying to highlight that as the owner, she should know that her dogs will attack other animals and take appropriate steps BEFORE venturing out in public.

We have a simple rule in our house. No dogs that the smallest person cannot kill or defend against with their bare hands.

That's why we have one of these.

When I was painting I would rather walk into a backyard with a rottweiler then one of those rats. At least with the rottie he'd either let you in, or not. There was no pretence. The rats on the other hand would run away and hide, only to sneak up behind you and bite you on the ankles 5 minutes later when you weren't watching.
