'Secret documents' to shed light on dam plan

21 Oct/2009

The New South Wales Upper House last night ordered the Department of Environment and Climate Change to release so-called "secret documents" relating to the proposed Tillegra Dam ...
Greens' MP John Kaye says it is vital the advice given to the Government is released so that the community can make a well-informed judgment on the $400 million dam planned for Dungog.

My Kaye says the documents will be made public in two weeks.

"This is a big step forward," he said. "The people of the Hunter will now have access to the advice that was going from water and environment departments to the ministers and to the Government with respect to Tillegra.

"This is an opportunity to see what the experts were telling the Government, not the spin that we've been getting from them instead."

I wish the NSW election was this Saturday so the incomepent to the nth Labor govt got smashed so they can begin to rebuild from the ground up. Then in 4 years time they can regain govt from the very incompetent Fatty O'Barrel Lib govt.

Regarding dams, I think the best spots already have a dam. Best scheme would be a massive public works to tap the mighty Burdekin River to send more water down the Murray.

With climate change and relentlessly growing population something will go BANG! sooner or later.

About time to limit population growth worldwide. 5Bn would be a good population I reckon. Of course, the bloody Catholics and other Abrahamists that want people to breed like rabbits means no sensible population policy can ever be implemented.

So, dam ever tinier, most unsuitable tricklet, grow cities up and out ever ever more until all arable land is covered by cities and the lucky lucky inhabitants survive on yummy yummy algae crackers. Luckily, I will be safely and cosily dead by the time that happens.

What's to discuss? It's a media release giving absolutely no information, just Green attention seeking.
