Recharging Tablets

Is it possible to somehow extend the time you can use your Tablet before the next recharge?

I'm thinking you can't.

Turn everything off you do not need.

I found WiFi a big drain, so if you are not surfing, turn it off - if you are reading a book in Kindle mode, you don't need WiFi
Do you have programs running in the background, if you don't need then, turn them off
Don't play games that continually update the screen.

Turn on power saving modes.

Basically there is not much you can do but reduce unnecessary programs running.

I now carry a charger so when in a coffee shop, airport ...etc I grab a recharge.

I reckon the next generation of tablets will improve in this area.

Why?

Carrying a charger around all the time isn't ideal.
