I think Turnbull is the only option too. Hockey is hopeless. Turnbull has far more diplomacy and ease with language than both Hockey and Abbott. He's also a self made man and a moderate and isn't a career politician, which most of the Libs are. They don't know anything else except the public service.

I just can't see Abbott putting his most obvious alternative into a position that would give Turnbull so much media attention. Every time Abbott stuffs up, which is often, the talk will be about Turnbull rolling him. Not to mention how pissed off Hockey will be and the ramifications of that.
Hockey is not the problem, Abbott is, but it seems Abbotts office is doing all it can to push the blame onto Hockey. I'm not Saying Joe is great, he's arguably the worst treasurer we have ever seen, but Abbott is the worst PM by far as well. Just ask the voters who can't wait to dump him.

Really mantra do stop posting rot... what jobs have other Libs had? You might like to start with Abbott, before you choke on your foot.

Of course Credlin and hence Abbott wouldn't want to inflame a leadership issue by making Malcolm Treasurer.... bad enough Progs bring it up all the time now.

I have stated many times (here) that Turnbull should be Treasurer and also why he will not be leader. If he ever is then the Libs will be doomed and that is what Labor and its LW prog supporters want.

LOL Labor and and Lefties much prefer Abbott Thankyou very much, Turnbull would win an election. Anyone with half a brain can see from the twelve months of opinion polls from every pollster Abbott is gone. But you keep pretending otherwise, it will be much better fun rubbing your nose in your posts when you're proven wrong.

My point exactly. If you don't know what jobs they've had - how am I supposed to know, although you would have to give Abbott credence for once being a trainee priest. If this uni legislation gets passed, taxpayers will be footing the bill for trainee priests. Tbe Catholics have always been a drain on the public purse even though they're drowning in cash. Religious organisations should be paying for their own trainees.
Taxpayers would subsidise the training of priests and other religious workers at private colleges for the first time under the Abbott government's proposed higher education reforms.

As well as deregulating university fees and cutting university funding by 20 per cent, the government's proposed higher education package extends federal funding to students at private universities, TAFES and associate degree programs.

Religious teaching, training and vocational institutes would be eligible for a share of $820 million in new Commonwealth funding over three years.

and
The Vatican's economy minister, Cardinal George Pell, has found hundreds of millions of euros "tucked away" in various Vatican accounts that did not appear on its balance sheets.

The Australian cardinal wrote in Britain's Catholic Herald Magazine that the discovery meant overall finances were in better shape than previously believed.

"In fact, we have discovered that the situation is much healthier than it seemed, because some hundreds of millions of euros were tucked away in particular sectional accounts and did not appear on the balance sheet," Cardinal Pell said.

"It is important to point out that the Vatican is not broke... the Holy See is paying its way, while possessing substantial assets and investments."

He did not suggest any wrongdoing, but said Vatican departments had long had "an almost free hand" with their finances and it was impossible for anyone to know accurately what had been going on overall.

Conservatives would leave the Libs if Turnbull ever became leader again. He was a massive failure the first time. He is pseudo Labor and would make a darn good labor leader. That's why you people like him.
As for Abbott I don't care... I have never been a fan. I wasn't a Howard fan either but you morons can't work out that I will defend people from your lies.
As for proving me wrong... I aint seen it yet and am not likely to... ever

That's very strange. I didn't type Solonoid's nick - it just appeared, but I was quoting Roach's post. It should read......
