While Howard is forgotten I think FPMJG will be remembered a long time. One of our great PMs, up there with Curtin and like him faced a minority government and yet achieved great things.

This shambles will get dumped soon enough and the program continued. Before they get dumped in the ash can of history they will have trashed the LNP’s unmerited reputation as good economic managers. Hokey started off taking 6 months to get half his Budget through and more than doubled the bloody deficit! He will likely have to cope with the bankruptcy of Myers and the unemployment that will cause.

What is left of his reckless spending in the Budget is causing the Budget problems now, with the idiot Costello’s tax cuts paid by boom revenue tho the boom is gone. The high private sector indebtedness is a result of the real estate boom 2001-7, people borrowing against increased equity.
