You really don't understand politics do you.

here ya go mongo... some clues
LW/RW
Conservative/Progressive

I understand politics fine, I am now just trying to disambiguate yours.

8-) No clues, tell us what being a conservative progressive or a LW conservative means to you, and why you as an individual identify with being such?

And can you name any past or present Australian politicians who you see as being such themselves?

This should be good....

8-)

Ok Mel... first you gotta go read about the political spectrum...
then you gotta remember that American politics is not Australian politics...

get back to me when you've done that and we can move on.
if you like I can post you some links

oh and have you figured out that conservatism is not progressivism yet? I'm guessing not as you keep saying "conservative progressive"... hate to tell you but they aint the same mel they are pretty much mutually exclusive.
I hope we are not back to English as a first language again as I know you still don't understand that I'm not a Turnbull fan :rofl :rofl :rofl

Wow, that was hard yakka, gosh, I had no idea at all.

Thanks for enlightening me re- the political spectrum, and bringing me up to speed re- American politics also...you know, with it being different to Australian politics and all, because until this point, I had no idea at all, just assumed our liberals were their liberals...*common mistake apparently* *cough* I had no idea, not a clue....honest! 8-)

Now that I have satisfactorily stroked your ego, lets get down to business.
Or will I have to stroke it a little more first? 8-)

Tell us what being a LW conservative means to you, and why you as an individual identify with being such.

And can you name any past or present Australian politicians who you see as being a left wing conservative like yourself?

Personally i don't believe anything you just wrote.
You're too lazy to do any real research you post loads of stuff you've googled without even knowing what it is or means.
LW Conservative...?
I identify as such because every quiz/test I do I end up as Ghandi or thereabouts... making me LW.
I am a Conservative because that is my normal nature.

You do know what a Conservative is don't you or are you still confusing it with a progressive?
You do realise there are progressives and conservatives on both the L and R side of politics don't you? The Libs call the progs wets and Labor have recently tried to purge them from the party and now identify as just a progressive party.
You do realise that the original French divides of R and L aren't really all that relevant these days don't you?
You do realise that both major US parties are to the right of our major parties don't you?
You do realise that the extremes of R and L are on the whole nothing like those that would normally consider themselves R or l don't you.
You do realise that ON was traditional Labor and not a RW extremist party at all don't you?

So far over the years Mel you've only shown how much you actually don't know and how fickle when it comes to politics you are.

Here is why I identify politically as a Conservative...
Conservatism is a political philosophy advocating the preservation of the best of the established order in society and opposing radical change, or simply change for its own sake.
Here are a few reasons I identify as LW...
I support Unionism, I am against free trade and globalisation, I support protectionism and government owned enterprises especially essential services, fair trade not free trade, I support the welfare safety net, medicare... etc, etc.

Let me know if the penny has dropped yet.

I still have those links you can't be bothered to read. :rofl

Sorry, I just wanted to quote this first.... it's a beauty.

And this ....

I identify as such because every quiz/test I do I end up as Ghandi or thereabouts... making me LW.

 Now I feel slack for asking you to explain.

Myself, I had you pegged as being more of a Gemini.

Roach, really, this is rather elementary, in fact, if you run a quick search into Ozpolitics search engine, and google what you assumed I didn't know already, ie, the political spectrum, left and right factions of both leading parties, useing key-words such as the difference between Americas Liberals and ours,(I am pretty sure I even posted something brief about this here on this forum also, so run a check here also) and the political philosophy behind both sides of politics and you will see that this is all pretty basic stuff, general knowledge for all of us who post here.

So stop grandstanding, and avoiding the questions, by asking me questions you already know fine well I know the answer to, and just cut to the chase.

Again...

Why do you consider yourself to be a left-wing conservative, (This is, you personally, we don't want a googled political ideology twisted around your own half-assed interpretation, or the results of some online political pop-quiz that told you so) and name an Australian politician you believe shares your left-wing conservative values.

It's pretty simple, not asking much.

:roll

If you insist on using the political pop-quizzes as a rational for why you believe yourself to be a LW conservative, please post the links to these "quizzes", so we may check out these ourselves.

Because it's my feeling that these online political quizzes which claim to assess an individuals political orientation are a load of crap.

:roll This and should not be taken seriously.

If you want me to take you seriously, then try answering the questions seriously first.

We know what the definition of a conservative and a left-winger is ...what I want is for you to tell us the definition of a LW conservative and how this applies to yourself.

Because having left-wing values/views and a conservative temperament/nature, doesn't necessarily mean you are a LW conservative... a centrist perhaps, but a LW conservative?

It's about where you sit on the spectrum, not "labels" and what you wish to brand yourself in order to appeal to both sides of politics.

The Libs have been telling Turnbull the same thing for years, and to no avail.

let's cut to the chase eh mel...

You post lots...
Doesn't mean you understand any of it.

Hell you read stuff and still think I'm a turnbull fanboy
English not a first language?

I've already answered your questions and posted the links you just asked for... right after I posted them BTW. :du
As for your link strawman you just keep putting your foot in it don't you.
Like I said... you post lots... but obviously you understand little. :rofl :rofl :rofl
