Fraudband

Post by Jovial_Monk » Fri May 10, 2013 11:14 am

After the runaway success of James Brotchie’s (@brotchie) NBN comparison page, http://howfastisthenbn.com.au/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, Malcolm Turnbull has shown again that he is uncomfortable with the facts & will do anything to muddy the waters in the running debate over the NBN. As usual, the complaints from Turnbull were nothing more than bile being spewed at someone who is attempting to clear up the differences between the Coalition’s aspirations for the NBN, & the current NBN deployment.

It’s amusing to see Turnbull trot out his ‘Conroy’s BFF’ line, as this kind of argument degrades the debate, as always with Turnbull, into ad hominem attacks rather than looking at the technology at play. Just as with the Comms Debate earlier in the week, Turnbull has sought to muddy the waters & utilise one of the oldest forms of misinformation: projection.

James Brotchie is a Liberal supporter! Well, was :bgrin

Turncoat still trying to polish the turd Tone forced on him:
http://www.malcolmturnbull.com.au/wp-co ... adband.pdf

“We will issue a revised statement of expectations directing NBN Co to provide broadband services with a minimum download data rate of 25 megabits per second by the end of 2016 in all areas of Australia, and 50 megabits per second by the end of 2019 in 90 per cent of the fixed line footprint.”
At best, Fraudband will be UP TO 25mbps. Turncoat still has to negotiate with ACCC and Telstra—nothing will be done till after 2016 I would say. Turncoat also crapped on about mininodes bwahahahaha. Of course, Libs want to clamp down austerity so nothing will be done about broadband at all.

At the best 1.1m premises in the fixed line area will miss out on the “at least” (bwahahaha) 25mbps
When is a guarantee not a guarantee? When it's a Political statement.

The "minimum" guaranteed speed excludes one in seven (13%) premises covered by the Coalition's DSL-FTTN: or 1.1M premises will be "NOT happy, Mal!"

Be sure to spread that around!

James Brotchie @brotchie

Note: By the time a single Coalition node has been constructed, all FTTP NBN subscribers will have the option of 1000/400. #nbn #fraudband
This is, or maybe was, a Liberal voter. Just one can see the shit sandwich that is #Fraudband.

Australian internet speeds fall to 40th place globally
http://www.smh.com.au/technology/techno ... 2dazu.html

The need for a real NBN is proven beyond doubt. It will also boost GDP HEAPS!

Remember the Rodent saying other countries are catching up? The real NBN will bump out speed (pun intentional) way up.

Will probably fall even more now that private companies have given up investing themselves. Broadband speeds will stagnate for the next decade because of the ALP.

bwahahaha Apparently Turncoat* doesn’t like Fraudband being called Fraudband! Sortius points out—the LNP used that term first to describe the planned NBN MkI. He also points out, again, that Fraudband is the right description. Didn’t point out that the Libs, if they get in in Sep, won’t build ANY kind of NBN—too busy creating a recession with austerity!

* I call the cvnt Turncoat because he thinks FTTH is just dandy for the French and Spanish but crap ADSL is good enough for Aussies! Fuck that!
