The owner of Katherine's main shopping centre plans to charge people $2 to use toilets inside the complex.
Don't know about you guys, but I don't carry around change these days. There's a new thing out... EFTPOS.
Fuck it, and I'm dying for a dump

Many years ago in the States one could find toilets that could not be entered until a coin was inserted. Not sure why they disappeared. Why not have credit/debit card toilets?

If I come across a pay dunny, I pity the poor cleaner that will have to deal with my protest.

You used to have to pay to use some public toilets in Sydney but it was before my time.

'Here I sit broken hearted, paid a penny and only farted.'
I can remember the dunnies at the Bundaberg Railway Station back in the 50s. Had to pay a penny to get in.

NOBODY goes to a public toilet! Your poor Mum must have had to find the toilet at Myers or David Jones? When kids need to go, they need to go!!! They are still "free" I understand.
When you have small children, the next thing after finding a parking space is where the nearest toilet is.

You have to pay for many of them in Germany. So all the homeless people urinate wherever they happen to be at the time. No idea where they go for a dump.

Sydney Central station toilets used to charge a fee to use them. It went on well into the 70's - but you gave the cash to the woman who kept them clean. All the travellers were forced to use them so she would have made a small fortune. She didn't give receipts.

The homeless in Sydney do that too. One man sleeps on a small set of steps leading up to a pub on one side and a cafe on the other, in busy Kent Street. He climbs out from under his blanket and bottles and sprays onto the busy footpath as people are walking past and lining up for their morning coffee. It's disgusting!
