Well done Labor
You have now allowed not only thousands of illegal entrants into Australia, you have managed to fuck the whole system so badly anyone can get in, included ASIO highlighted individuals.
You fucking retarded cocksticks
I only hope that this will lead to lawyers being held personally to account for any future damage to people or society. Like doctors, lawyers need to be accountable for their actions.

It has nothing to do with the government. You should have quoted the article or at least linked to it. If the Coalition are returned - they will be over-ruled by the High Court on the same issues. The opposition has acknowledged that the government has to adhere to a High Court judgment.
MORE than 50 refugees judged to be a risk to national security by ASIO may be released from indefinite detention after the High Court yesterday struck down the regulation that prevented them being granted protection visas.
The refugees are also poised to win the right to challenge their adverse assessments following the landmark decision on the case of a 36-year-old Tamil refugee from Sri Lanka.

The opposition immigration spokesman, Scott Morrison, expressed dismay that the court had found ''that our government has no power to keep known security risks out of our community''.

Maybe if there were less Labor appointees to the bench there would be more sensible rulings.

About time the High Court was fumigated. A bunch of middle aged wankers who probably have little more experience under their belt than conveyancing

The Government can pass laws to overrule the High Court on stupid decisions like this one.
Let's see if it does.

Not when it comes to international conventions and agreements we're signed up to. Perhaps changes in national legislation can modify some rulings a little around the edges, but I recall similar incidents occurring under the Coalition when they were in power.

What agreements have we signed that binds us to accept people who risk our national security?

True - it requires much more motivation to discard an international convention, than to modify a national law.

What? Are you not happy that the majority (four) are Howard appointees?

Sorry... was I unclear?
Let me expand then... if today's Coalition picked say... a full bench... it would have less Progressives than the one we have now. If they had any sense that is. BTW I don't consider Turnbull even though he is in the Liberal party a Conservative. I have no doubt I disagree with many of his views and I have no doubt he'd be better suited to the Labor party than the Liberal Party.
I have no doubt these learned people know the law, but interpret it through their own particular political prism, otherwise they'd all agree all the time.
