The Weather, etcetera
I am sure that we can all relate to this subject.
It was minus 6.3C in Canberra this morning and eventually got to about 10C. Not even cold enough for snow, although we use to have snow falling here regularly in Winter when I first came here.
I will be interested in what my Electricity bill will be for this quarter ... my house is all electric ... this quarter in 2011 was about $500 if I recall correctly. We are supposed to get a huge hike from 1 July.

Minus 6...??????

You can keep that Nef, it was 6 degrees here in Melbourne at about 6am this morning and this was bad enough.
Also, it pays to shop around re- power companies, we switched to dodo electricity, (still waiting for dodo gas to become available in our area) and have not looked back.
Some of the more 'renowned' power companies charge like wounded bulls, still cash in on people thinking they don't have much choice.

Funny how the weather report says that Canberra had a minimum of 3 degrees

By "regularly" ... 1980's and early 1990's it was/had snowed most mornings in Winter. At least 4" of snow on cars left outside, and it was still snowing when I was driving to work. Why?boxy wrote:What do you mean, "regularly"?Neferti~ wrote:It was minus 6.3C in Canberra this morning and eventually got to about 10C. It hasn't snowed in Canberra suburbia for at least 8 years.
The first time I ever visited Canberra (I lived in Sydney at the time) it was snowing here and did ALL weekend.

Canberra, Australia.
Do you know of it? It hardly ever snows there... well, not since the last ice age, anyway.

In the ACT? Na. The ski fields are only a little closer than the beach. The Brindabellas get snow pretty much each year, but I wouldn't call it regular. You can see them from Canberra.
