If the Independants went to Abbott and promised to give him support to form Government on the strict condition that unless they pulled the pin on him he must allow his Government to go full term, what would Abbott do?

Grap it with both hands and agree to run a full term.

Unless full terms are legislated for as the Conservatives have done here, he will back track near the end of his term when it looks like the balance has changed and he can win without them.

Abbott would have to do exactly what they wanted him to do even if he didn't agree with their demands. This is where Gillard got herself into a mess. She made too many deals with too many people.
