No, Frogbone....s/he is not a bully.......s/he is just a fellow traveller who has a very unhealthy tug on DT's forelock.
This is to be pitied in the case of each, but not mocked.

Pity (or derision) should be reserved for those who lack the memory capacity to remember what they have done previously.
(Feel free to delete this post Aussie- just try and remember that you did)

Did you change any money in the temple?

It is obvious from the juries decision that he is a law abiding citizen, whether he is a bigot remains to be seen.
And I'm not sure that it is necessary for the polarisation of the labels that have been used to describe him, ie hero/murderer. For me it is pretty simple, an individual that has been of no prior criminal interest to the judicial system showed questionable over-enthusiasm in preventing the escape of a couple of thieves.
If they had been breaking into his home, his actions would not have been questionable. In fact under that situation I don't believe that a warning would need to be issued before firing and indeed could possibly lead to the lose of any tactical advantage therefore unreasonably increasing the danger to the homeowner and/or other occupants.
Finally, while I do not hail him a hero in this situation, there is about a snowballs chance in hell of me shedding a tear for the two thieves that were killed. Seems to me it is one of the hazards of their chosen occupation.
