I agree with the above. I don't believe there is such a thing as free will. From the moment we're born, we are subject to serious restrictions. If we had free will - we wouldn't have gaols.
I believe there is as much free will in an atheistic universe, as there is a creationist universe.

I am still to be convinced, either way, about the existence of free will in "this" universe. We like to think we are special, and that our decisions are ours alone. But we are pushed and pulled by so many influences. We arn't on autopilot any more... but that doesn't mean that our actions arn't caused things outside our control. Genetics, upbringing, social pressures, fear, love... our environment shapes our reactions, both in the short, and extreme long term.

It's one of the great philosophical questions... and I'm not entirely sure I want to know the answer.

But I'm not willing to take some imaginary jackasses word for it, simply because "he" says so.

That's human nature for ya... seeking answers to questions that are better left unanswered.

God is said to have a divine plan for us all and god is perfect and infallible and omniscient. This means zero free will. We are just god's puppets following the script.

Dogs are pets FFS. I can understand poor drunken old Naffie mistaking dogs for family members (her family tree has many dogs in it) but you Celly? You are clearer thinking than that!

I picture Naffie as an old boxer wandering (and chandering :D ) around town not realising he hasn’t got his shorts on and leaving many pillars of salt and cracked mirrors in her wake.

I tried that as a 'defence' in Court once. An 'Act of God' I pleaded. Didn't work!

Was that when you were caught flashing?

Should have pleaded “the law is not concerned with trifles.” Not that you had a pudding about you.

Good grief. Did you ever try the "vibe" defence?

Hell no I don't consider my dog in that way. It's nothing more than a fat, stinky, hairy, noisy, four-legged thing that eats, shits and sleeps and then eats, shits and sleeps and then eats, shits and sleeps only taking a break every now and then to chew one of my expensive Nikes. But some people consider their pet dog to be a member of the family. Shit some parents even treat their dogs better then they treat their own kids.

hahahaha oh yes. People calling themselves the dog’s mummy or daddy (yuck) others take 3 or even more dogs to obedience/agility/jumping etc trials. Still, takes all kinds I guess.
