I'm not often convinced by these debates on the "world against Islam", but the speaker on the panel made a good argument. She should also have pointed out however that the silent majority regardless of whether they were the Germans, the Japanese, Chinese etc. have never spoken out at the time terrorism was taking place by their extremist leaders. The moderate Muslims aren't the only ones who have stayed silent.
Maybe it's intimidation by the powerful? The moderates, regardless of their ethnicity or religion, generally haven't got the ability to be violent and are susceptible to intimidation. Perhaps that's why most nations end up with aggressive leaders.
