We're not talking 3-way government here, we're talking 2-way. Obviously in some states, but not Tasmania, Australia First might find another party to align itself with, though I doubt even the Liberal Party (except Eric Abetz) would want them.

It wasn't even inconceivable that we might have had a Lib/Lab coalition here - their policies are so similar in many areas. The only thing that stopped them would have been their utter loss of credibility.

All three parties here have policy areas of more or less similarity and dissimilarity. It's just up to two of them - at any one time, I suppose - to find a way to govern. The Greens oppose Labor's education policies and so do the Libs, so I would expect them to work together on that, though Bartlett has acknowledged that they have failed, or that HE has, anyway.

The Tasmanian Liberals say the Labor Treasurer Michael Aird must resign, if the Premier David Bartlett appoints a Minister from the Greens.

Last August Mr Aird vowed never to serve in a government that had any Greens in it, words that could soon return to haunt him.

I suspect that a Lab/Greens alliance will falter very quickly and intelligent voters will see that a LW govt is unworkable due to conflicting interests of the rabid Greens and most people not wanting to live in a green world subsidised on public handouts with promises of the only employment being a wilderness tour guide operator

I understand the Tasmanian Greens policies basically wish to prevent environmental degradation - noble goal.
However I can see how what the other major parties are supporting can constitute employment growth. Can, not will.
This seems to suggest that the Tasmanian Greens wish employment/unemployment to remain static. That's probably not true but it was it suggests.

What is/are the Tasmanian Greens strategy for Employment Growth in Tasmania?

I have a branch meeting tomorrow, and will suggest they put up a dedicated employment section in their policy page. They/we certainly don't want unemployment to be the price of protecting the environment - just to make our industries sustainable.

The Greens are a bit like the Democrats, they're there to keep the bastards honest. Once they start to be seen to be in bed with the bastards (just a few more elections now), they'll fade as well.
