The bit about homos going to hell is in the Old Testament.
The OT is for jews.

The New Testament is for Christians.
The NT says things like ' Do not judge others, else you will be judged by the same measure' , ' ........ All have fallen short of the Glory of God ........... '

Stuff like that.
So, the message is different.

This is not to say being queer is right or wrong.
It is to say I have sinned, so am no better than anyone else that I know of.
