Pauline Hanson DEMANDS Fatima Payman be REMOVED from Parliament Over Citizenship Scandal
One Nation Senator Tyron Witten found himself under scrutiny over potential constitutional issues relating to business ties with Snowy Hydro — a government-owned entity.
The controversy was still fresh when Pauline Hanson took to social media with a post that Sharri Markson described as fiery — and that is putting it mildly. Hanson turned the constitutional spotlight directly onto Senator Fatima Payman, publicly questioning whether Payman is even eligible to sit in Parliament. The specific concern is Section 44(i) of the Australian Constitution — the provision that prohibits any person holding foreign citizenship from serving as a member of the Australian Parliament. And Hanson's claim is that Payman holds Afghan citizenship.
I fully concur with Pauline on this!
Section 44(i) of the Constitution disqualifies any person who is "under any acknowledgement of allegiance, obedience, or adherence to a foreign power, or is a subject or a citizen or entitled to the rights or privileges of a subject or a citizen of a foreign power.
She refuses to renounce her Afghani citizenship. Why is she in parliament?
