Most people I know these days, still do what I did. Stay home until the child starts school, then get a job with flexible hours until the child is old enough to walk home or catch the bus home from school. These days the kids expect Mother to collect them. Sure, it stuffs up your career and superannuation retirement fund, so what? At least the children have happy memories of family and can pass that down to their own children ... our grandchildren.
I have been saying for years that Aussies should not feel ashamed that they RENT rather than tie themselves down for 30 years with enormous Mortgages .... the rents are way over priced too ... what should happen is something to do with LONG TERM rentals ... like in Europe where people live in the same place, that they do NOT own, for ever.
