ATMs have not been removed here. Tellers have been replaced with ATMs though.
ATMs are only at Bank Branches .... no longer in shopping centres. At least not Westpac ones. EFTPOS or "tap and go" is the way we shop (in person) in Canberra.

they are in Western nef...all kinds of ATMs....they have both in Woden...you dont have to use your Bank ones anymore and there is no $2 chges anymore....I do like to have a bit of cash on me... even if its just for the grandkids...

I shouldnt carry cash though I am a walking mugshot I tell you last week after shopping in Woden going to my car I was approached by a guy who asked me if I could spare $15 he had run out of petrol blah blah...he appeared to be genuine. whatever that is?... anyway I took $10 out of my purse and gave it to him but he pushed me for the $5 dollars all I had......and like a dill I gave it too him...anyway driving out of the carpark there he is chatting up some guy who looked like he was going to help him as well..........  the last time it happened to me it was only $5...

was I scammed???....do they see me coming?????....why cant I say NO?

It used to be $5 or $10 they would beg for. Inflation?

Change is ok but asking for $15 is a tad over the top.

Begging is illegal.
Sometimes they get aggressive - like armed robbers.
You should report them to the police.

I certainly hope you say NO!

Some of these people make a very good living begging, on top of their Centrelink.

Once the criminal stood on the public side of the counter and held up banks with guns and a mask.

Now the criminals stand on the other side of the counter, protected by shields and smile as they Rob you blind.

Criminal gangs used to wear colours and Rob and kill people on the street

Criminal gangs now wear suits, lie to people they tricked into voting for them and still rob and kill people, on a much larger scale.
I don't know about you, Valkie, but I haven't been anywhere near a Bank Branch that has a Teller standing there, waiting to "process your money", in decades!

Bank branches have closed down .... ATMS have been removed.

I have been paying bills online for 20 years. I don't use cash. Who does? My credit card is only used for the ISP and Foxtel monthly accounts and I transfer those sums as soon as they appear.

I doubt you will find "criminal gangs" trying to steal money at ATMs or holding up Banks .... they would be hard pressed as they are ALL closed. :rofl

What will they to now? Rob children of their pocket money?
I actually go to bank branches, or one in particular quite frequently.

I get cash, in various currencies, for when I travel.
No fees, no stuffing around, simply tell them how much you want and pick it up a week later.

I have been doing this for years, best way to get spending cash in different currencies.

But I also speak to my bank manager from time to time when setting up or changing payments, it again makes sure that it's all correct and no issues.

I have trust issues.
We have been served a notice of for closure once when they stuffed up and put our house payments somewhere other than into the loan repayments. Punched in the wrong number they did, lots and lots of apologies.

Then was the time my wife rang me at work saying her card was declined when paying for groceries.
This time they stuffed up when transferring accounts and for 6 months they were taking out our monthly payments weekly.
More embarrassed faces and apologies.

Now, when ever anything changes, anything, it's off to the bank to go over all payments and income, just in case.
I have caught 3 potential issues so far, but I must admit that the last couple of years they have been pretty good.
I have a dream
A world free from the plague of Islam
A world that has never known the horrors of the cult of death.
My hope is that in time, Islam will be nothing but a bad dream
