It was an election promise. He should see it through, even if it is defeated in the Lower House to avoid the accusation of broken promise.

It's not the lower house that is the problem.

Well it would seem from Shorten's latest outburst on this he and labor do not believe in democracy.
They don't want the plebiscite because he thinks the NO vote will win the day, oh dear, so much for democracy and the will of the people eh Bill. :roll: :roll: :roll:

Can you explain for me why the Government is holding the plebiscite? I hear that Members of Parliament are not going to do what the people vote for. Is that right.

You know as well as anybody else who is the slightest bit interested in politics why there is to be a plebiscite. Most of the Australian population care less about whether homosexuals want to marry or not. So if you are not into Politics ... why are you here on a Political Forum?
