Sorry SN had to rush away b4 finished... should have made it a draft.

Nova has been pretty fortunate in her life, there are many Australians worse off.

True. There always is when comparing someone with some sucess over the majority.

Would you agree that Ms Nova has done good for women that would have had the cards stacked against her.
Always remember what you post, send or do on the internet is not private and you are responsible.

I'd say she has lead a fairly priveldged life, comparatively...but don't let the facts get in the way of your racism SN

Ah she's had a fairly normal life SN.
Do you think all Aborigines live in poverty and dirt?

In fact, there was no 'privilege' at all. She made a mess of her early years, as we all may have done. She worked at her 'sport' and was successful in them. Her personal circumstances, while she achieved that success, were abysmal.

I am not a fan of this woman, but.................I am mere data on a www Forum.

What is of interest to me is that Peres is not a Member of the ALP..............and I was of the view that you had to be a Member for three years before you could be eligible for ALP endorsement.

Well no that's not true.
She was rebellious and got pregnant at 18 I think. She always had a wild rebellious streak. Her family were unhappy about the pregnancy and her white policeman stepfather disappointed because he thought it would put an end to any success she could have at sport. She took up Hockey eventually playing U21s and was selected to try out for the national team. Most people have to work at their sport to be successful in it. All the girls in the Australian Woman's Hockey Team had to work hard to be in the team.
Her success being a part of this team aided her in her future endeavours in athletics.
She was never in abysmal personal circumstances.

Ok so now they have completely lost the plot.

Apparently Australians now have to pay hommage to our DEAR LEADER Julia Gillard
Schools are being told they must organise thank you days for the the glory of the Dear Leader and the Party.
Thank you Dear Leader for the BER...
Thank you for a COLA instead of a Library.
Thank you for a Library instead of a new ammenities block.
Thank you for a COLA instead of a School Auditorium... oh thank you Dear Leader, thank you.

Gillard thinks this is North bloody Korea.
(Photo opportunities with the Minister and plaques will be supplied and organised by the government)

Isn't that what happened, well, forever. There were plenty of plaques around naming the federal/state minister who "officially opened" heaps of buildings in the schools I went to 20+ years ago.
