Selective quoting only reinforces that you are a hypocriteYou publish all, then you moderate to the extent that you allow that which you agree with and delete or ban that which you deem offensive

Re: Burning The Book
You're not making much sense any more IQ. Are you arguing that because people are able to get in and publish whatever, I should be forced to leave it up permanently?
Would you argue that if this guy managed to sneak into a mosque, or even walk in boldly, they would be obligued under freedom of speech to let him stay as long as he wants to burn books?
Once again IQ, it is just a reflection of what freedom of speech really means.

Re: Burning The Book
IQ, a person's right to express thoughts is not denied because one forum amongst many denies a certain number of those thoughts their expression, not at least whilst there are other forums where those thoughts can be freely expressed. Freedom of speech suffers when all avenues for that expression are closed and where access to thoughts already expressed are denied.IQSRLOW wrote:Your problem is that you are here in this thread championing free speech when your actions on your other forum speak otherwise.
That, dear freeloader is the definition of a hypocrite. You can thank me later for pointing out the deficiency in your logic
If you are serious about freedom of thought to be expressed and accessed, take your concerns to the numerous libraries and the catholic state for there is where thoughts already expressed are denied any access to the people.

That is not my point. My point is to point out the hypocrisy in Freeloader censoring that with which he disagrees while he champions free speech.IQ, a person's right to express thoughts is not denied because one forum amongst many denies a certain number of those thoughts their expression, not at least whilst there are other forums where those thoughts can be freely expressed.
People like freeloader deserve the scrutiny of eternal vigilanceWhen the Nazis came for the Communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a Communist.
When they locked up the Social Democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a Social Democrat.
When they came for the Trade Unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a Trade Unionist.
When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.
When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

Is it free speech that he is censoring, or foul language and insulting behaviour? There is a difference.IQ wrote: My point is to point out the hypocrisy in Freeloader censoring that with which he disagrees while he champions free speech.

There is no difference if the other interlocutor also engages and begins with foul language and insulting behaviour in the course of a discussion yet the censorship is only applied to one sideIs it free speech that he is censoring, or foul language and insulting behaviour? There is a difference.
Re: Burning The Book
Ah... so this is about foul language and insulting behaviour and nothing what so ever to do with free speech.IQSRLOW wrote:There is no difference if the other interlocutor also engages and begins with foul language and insulting behaviour in the course of a discussion yet the censorship is only applied to one sideIs it free speech that he is censoring, or foul language and insulting behaviour? "But daddy... he did it too... how come I'm the only one to get punished?"
Just as I thought.... carry on.

That you are afraid of robust discussion is not my concern. It is the systematic and irrefutable fact that posters from only the right side of politics are censored even when the robust discussion does not reach my level of excellenceSappho wrote:Ah... so this is about foul language and insulting behaviour and nothing what so ever to do with free speech.IQSRLOW wrote:There is no difference if the other interlocutor also engages and begins with foul language and insulting behaviour in the course of a discussion yet the censorship is only applied to one sideIs it free speech that he is censoring, or foul language and insulting behaviour? I'm not afraid of foul language and insulting behaviour. Such language expresses emotion is all. Just don't go claiming that censoring the excessiveness of that emotional language is a denial of free speech... because it aint.IQSRLOW wrote:That you are afraid of robust discussion is not my concern.
