Well, it is Victoria....we do tend to expect it dont we.....

it's dangerous for women in Melbourne.
There are violent psychopath sex offenders everywhere out on bail.

It seems that the women and elderly are the ones incarcerated.

My parents have fortified their home. They have alarms and cameras as well as extra secure doors and windows. I’d like to see them move from Dallas County. Crime is getting worse and Dad isn’t as formidable at 75 as he once was. My parents have never owned a gun, but I’ve offered to teach my parents gun safety at the range and help them pick out the right gun. I’d rather see them move near me or my brother. Crime is almost nonexistent just 35 minutes away in my neighborhood. We worry more about animals and actually know our neighbors. My brother lives 30 minutes East and is in a similar situation to me.

The Andrews Victorian state government and Vicpol have had me in a domestic siege for more than five years.
Lately since Christmas they have deployed their collective associates in a mass stalking event to peer upon my person from all angles.

"The Stupid" doesn't yet realise it is all for no reason.

Violent crime is pretty much contained in the big cities. The criminals in the country like their privacy so they can grow pot and make meth for the city critters. My cousin works for a county sheriff in East Texas. He has worked under cover and he concentrates on drug raids and the occasional murder investigation.

I was eating lunch with him last year and he was telling me about his current murder investigation. He said the guy that did the murder did everyone a favor by killing a fellow drug dealer, but he "had to go through the motions" and investigate. I had another lunch with him this year and he told me that they convicted him. That's 2 drug dealers off the streets for the price of one.

sadly for us folks who live in our Capital Canberra

we are importing our very own criminals,,, Canberra isnt a city its called a Territory here...we arent big enough population wise.we are about 400.000

however most states have banished bikie gangs and the cops are raiding their headqtrs so the mongrels are moving here where the local govt which happens to be a Labor govt....refuses to bring in the same laws as NSW .. so the happy campers have taken over our town we now have drive by shooting never heard of before.....now we have massive drug busts by the police....I understand we have about 5 bikie gangs here now spread all over the place....its like the wild west......massive bikies with tattoos all over their faces.....these guys run everything thats bad in this country....

and the powers tht be seem to help them....

I don’t like what I’m seeing with self defense laws in Australia. I see stories of groups of people breaking into homes and if a homeowner defends himself with a gun, he is treated like a criminal. I’m a big fan of the castle doctrine. Basically, it’s open season on any criminal who breaks into an occupied car or home.

Thankfully we don't live in the Wild West downunder, Tex. Most Australians don't like what they see in the US as far as self-defence goes. Oh, you also cannot own a gun for self-defence in Australia. That was taken away as justification for gun ownership after the 1996 Port Arthur Massacre. It was why we enacted strict firearms legislation in Australia, to stop us "going down the American road".

Downunder, Criminals have rights just as much as their victims do. If you respond to a criminal, your response must be proportionate to the threat you are facing.

It is not unusual for homeowners who respond disproportionately to a criminal threat to face criminal charges such as manslaughter (if they kill the criminal) or assault. The Police attitude is that it is easier and safer to allow the judiciary to work out if they are guilty of those crimes, rather than have them act as the judge and jury.

Simply being charged does not mean they are judged guilty until the courts have seen the evidence to show they are.

If a criminal breaks into your home at night, how are you supposed to know what a proportionate response is? Do they text you ahead of time to tell you how many will be in attendance and which weapons they will be bringing? How can you tell what is a proportionate response in the dark? Happy guessing.
